Change Portugal and Europe's Future - Donate!
Politics doesn’t have to belong just to politicians that have lost sight of what really matters.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Volt transparent with the donations it receives?
Yes. Volt Portugal does not accept donations from collective entities. For donations that exceed the cumulative amount of €1,500 within a one-year period, we will disclose the donor's identity in accordance with our Donation Policy, provided we receive their explicit consent. If the donor refuses, the total amount of their donation will be returned.
How is the money used?
At Volt Portugal, we all work voluntarily, and the vast majority of our most active members have full-time jobs, which they balance with their tasks at Volt. We are working to professionalize our organization and to ensure and enhance the continuity and quality of what we do. Therefore, we recognize that we need to hire full-time staff, with a solid political and strategic communications team being one of our top priorities. With your donation, we can take Volt's message to more people and achieve success in local, national, and European elections.
Why donate money, and what do I get in return?
Our donors are people passionate about solving today's societal challenges. That is what matters most to them, and it is why they donate to help Volt grow. If you are interested, you can also become part of our informal networks of people who financially support Volt (the Spinoza Circle of Volt Portugal and the Spinoza Circle of Volt Europa). Occasionally, we organize events for this network of people to inspire, connect, and exchange ideas with other Europeans who share the same vision.
What kind of influence do our donors have over Volt's policies?
Donors have no influence over our policies. Only members have the right to collectively develop and vote on Volt's policies. We are an organic movement, and our members make the crucial decisions.
Do the biggest donors have more direct access to their representatives?
No. At times, we organize events to give Volt members the opportunity to interact with elected representatives, as well as similar events for donors. Therefore, there is no difference in opportunities for access to representatives for major donors compared to any other Volt member.
